Vaccination Clinic Support Watsonville Fairgrounds

Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays in March (10th, 17th, 24th, 31st).
There are 3 stations at the drive through vaccination process that you may be assigned to. They include: confirming that community members have an appointment, bringing supplies to various stations, complete paperwork with community members before they receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
*Please note that we are especially in need of volunteers that are billingual in English and Spanish; if a shift is full please add yourself to the waitlist.
You will be working in teams of two. You may also be assigned as a floater to provide breaks for other volunteers. All positions are outside and require standing on concrete for up to 4-hours, so please only volunteer for this project if you are able to stand for long periods. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Please also wear a face covering (masks are available if you need one). Rain protection will be provided if needed.
Volunteer shifts are 5- hours. A half hour lunch break as well as regular breaks will be provided throughout the day.
Morning shift: 8am to 1pm
Afternoon shift: 12pm to 5pm
All Day shift: 8am - 5pm
A Just In Time training will be provided at the beginning of your shift, and volunteers for the afternoon shift will get a debrief from the morning volunteers.
Parking is easy to access with on-site security, so you may leave your personal belongings in your car. Enter the Watsonville Fairgrounds through the Entrance at 2601 East Lake Ave. and park in the parking lot on your right (at the top of the small hill).

Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers must live in Santa Cruz or Monterey County and be in good health.
Please review these COVID SAFETY VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
Who are we vaccinating?
At this time the focus for the clinic is to vaccinate people in the A1 priority group (people over 65 and health care workers), so volunteers will not be receiving the vaccine. You can get more information about the County of Santa Cruz vaccine distribution plan on the Health Services Website HERE.
