FAQ - For Volunteers

 

How to register with the Volunteer Center  and manage your volunteer account:

Becoming a volunteer with us is easy. Simply register yourself by clicking here. It does not cost anything and your information with be kept private and secure. For more details watch the video below.

How to search and sign up for volunteer opportunities:

Click on the Find an Opportunity Tab to search for an opportunity that interests you. Once you sign up or express interest in a particular opportunity, you will recieve a confirmation email with directions and any other special instructions. For more details about finding the right opportunity, watch the video below:

How to create and manage a volunteer team:

After registering, you can create and manage your Volunteer Team.  To find opportunities appropriate for groups, search the Flexible Volunteer Program opportunities or on the Find an Opportunity Page go to the "Additional Filters" and click "Appropriate For Groups". I forgot my username.  How do I retrieve that information?
Your username is the email address you used when registering. If you have forgotten this address, please email us at info@scvolunteercenter.org  with your name and email address.  A staff member should be in contact with you within 3-5 business days.  
 
I forgot my password.  How do I retrieve that information?
Click the "LOGIN" button on the top right of the home page.  Enter your username and click "Forgot password?".  An email with a temporary password will be sent to you.
 
I am a youth volunteer under the age of 14.  Can I register with on this site?
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to legally register with us.  Volunteers under 14 years of age may still volunteer but a parent/guardian will have to register to sign up or express interest in projects.  A parent/guardian may create a team to include children under 14 on their account.
 
I have been waitlisted for a project.  Now what?
If a space opens up, you will be notified via e-mail.  Open spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis so if you are still available and interested in the volunteer opportunity, make sure you login, return to the sign in page and claim one of the available spaces.  Please do not show up for the project if you are still waitlisted.  
 
I can no longer volunteer at a project I signed-up for.  What do I do?
If you have signed up for a project and can no longer attend, please login to your volunteer account and remove yourself from the opportunity.  This will open up your spot to one of the many volunteers waitlisted and ready to volunteer.
 
My logged volunteer hours are not accurate.  Why are my hours not showing up?
If you volunteered at a Flexible Volunteer Program project, please give our volunteer Project Leaders one-to-two weeks to verify attendance.  If you volunteered with one of our partner organizations, your hours will not be recorded in our system, so please contact that organization to verify your hours.

How do I Register my Organization?
To learn more about partnership and register, please see the Become a Partner page.  Once you are registered, you will be granted access to the partner portal and will be able to post volunteer opportunites.  Please note:  Becoming a Partner and posting volunteer opportunities  is free.

I Registered my organization.  How do I learn more about posting opportunities and managing volunteers on this site?
Please login to your account to visit the Organization Portal. Here you will find step by step instructions for posting and managing your opportunities. Need More Help- View the Organization How To Manual or call us for a personal training at 831-427-5070.

Where do I log into my account?
Click on the red "Login" button on the top, right hand side of this page and all pages on www.scvolunteernow.org.

I forgot my username.  How do I retrieve that information?
Your username is always your email address. If you can't access your account please call us at 831-427-5070 and ask for a representative from Volunteer Services.

How do I deactivate or delete an opportunity on the website?
Email the Volunteer Center and include the name of the opportunity and we will deactivate it for you. connect@scvolunteercenter.org

How do I change the contact for my account or add a new contact to our organization profile?
Email the Volunteer Center at connect@scvolunteercenter.org and include the following information:
