The Bike Church is a do-it-yourself bicycle repair shop where we teach people how to do the work for themselves, as well as diverting tons of usable bikes and parts from the waste stream and making both our parts and services available to the community for cheap to free. We are volunteer-run and always looking for more help. No mechanic experience necessary; you can learn as you go! Volunteering would include greeting people and assisting with whatever kinds of repairs you are comfortable with, or physical tasks like sorting parts and taking usable parts off old bikes.
