Organization Profile

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County

Our Mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. For more than 100 years in our nation and over 30 years in Santa Cruz, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. By recruiting screened, trained and dedicated mentors, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 7 through 14. We foster positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Being a Big Brother or Big Sister helps kids succeed in school, in their families and in their communities. You can make a lasting Difference!
