Event Volunteer Lead

We are currently developing a new events program and are looking for a few dedicated volunteers to join our team as Events Volunteer Lead.  Event Volunteer Leads play a vital role in allowing the SC SPCA to say YES to as many events as possible, helping connect us with our community, highlight our amazing adoptable animals, and even sell a bit of merchandise along the way! Since staffing is limited, and many events take place on the weekends, we are seeking a select group of special volunteers to take on the role of Events Volunteer Lead.

Events Volunteer Lead responsibilities

  • Communicate with a SCSPCA staff member prior to the event. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact between sponsors and volunteers on the event day.
  • Transport event tabling materials to/from venue.
  • Coordinating transport of event animals as needed.
  • Set up and manage SPCA table.
  • Oversee and direct other volunteers on the day of the event.
  • Supervise SPCA dog interactions and assess their behavior during the event.

What we are looking for in an Events Volunteer Lead

  • Someone who can commit to potentially a couple events each month.
  • Someone who is dependable.
  • Someone with good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Someone who feels comfortable sharing information about the SC SPCA’s programs, services, adoptions, and ways to donate.
  • Someone who will positively represent the SC SPCA and is enthusiastic about our mission.
  • Someone who is comfortable monitoring SC SPCA dog volunteers and dogs while out and about around town!

Currently, we are looking for volunteer leads to handle day-of duties. All pre-event preparations will be handled by an SC SPCA staff member.
