Join our grassroots initiative that empowers everyone to protect the ocean and advocate for our environment as a Surfrider Ambassador!
Ambassadors raise awareness about Surfrider’s core initiatives—such as beach clean-ups, ocean conservation, and plastic pollution reduction - while making it easier for more people to get involved in environmental advocacy.
Use your current interests and skills (atending events, posting on social media, writing newsletters) to inspire action and foster a deeper connection to the causes you care about. Most volunteers give about 5 hours a month after completing training. This is the perfect project for High school and college students, surf teams, environmental clubs, and other community members who are passionate about protecting the ocean, raising awareness about environmental issues, and connecting people to volunteer projects with Surfrider.
Ambassadors harness their own passion by selecting projects to support. Projects include:
Community Education: Share information about Surfrider’s initiatives, including ocean conservation, beach clean-ups, plastic pollution reduction, and advocacy for policy change.
Boost Volunteer Participation: Engage local community members to volunteer and take part in Surfrider’s programs and events (such as beach clean ups).
Support Surfrider’s Programs: Assist in raising funds for Surfrider’s efforts through ambassador-led outreach and fundraising activities.
Community Outreach: Set up informational tables at community hotspots—like schools, surf breaks, and farmers markets—to increase visibility and engage with the public.
