Wings Notary for Vital Docs Program

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Notaries to volunteer with our Vital Docs Program. As a volunteer notary, you will assist individuals in the process of obtaining their birth certificates. This role is essential for hundreds of people each year who rely on our services to navigate the complex systems required to secure their documentation.

*Ideally, we ask for a one (1) year commitment. Our office hours take place every Thursday from 10am-12:30pm at the Santa Cruz Public Library and every second Friday in Watsonville. We also have additional opportunites throught the month at Rountree and Janus! 
You can also volunteer to support this program in other capacities (if you are not a certified notary).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide notary services to individuals seeking to obtain their birth certificates.
  • Verify the identity of signers and ensure all necessary documents are correctly filled out and signed.
  • Maintain accurate records of notarized documents.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure smooth processing of documentation requests.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a commissioned Notary Public in the state of California - Additionally, we can reimburse you for your training if you don't have it already.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
