Ocean Docents

Share your interest in the natural world with visitors from all over California and the world! Docents teach visitors about the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and help them explore the exhibits in our free visitor center.

Volunteers receive in-depth training in marine schience and conservation, as well as ongoing education, field trips and parties throughout the year.

The Center is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm.
Voluntee shifts are 3 1/2 hours.
Volunteers are expected to volunteer a minimum of 2-shifts per month.
We especially need volunteers on Fridays and Saturdays.
