Help carry and hand out books to young children! We have dollies etc. so it does not become too cumbersome. Many of these children have no books at home, so this will be a chance to start them on the road to reading for a lifetime. We give out gently used books that we save from being otherwise pulped and sent to landfills. Many of us are retired teachers and we make sure the books are high quality and meant for the grade level where we hand them out. We do this all year long. We can also use help during the year stamping and vetting the books to make sure they are not drawn in or torn.

We will hand out books all week long for National Read Across America Day!

Qualifications
We are looking for people who are used to working with children. Grandparents are especially great. You need no special qualifications, except that we cannot have volunteers with a criminal record.
Volunteer Benefits
Your heart will be so full after seeing the faces of these children when they receive these books. We are a non-profit and can help high school students with community service credits towards graduation.
