Main Beach Cleanup for MLK Day of Service
Join us for a beach day! Help pick up trash at the beach downtown on MLK Day of Service. January 20, 2020 from 10am to 12pm.
Main Beach is a beloved and relaxing location for Santa Cruz locals and visitors alike. The beauty of this beach also attracts large crowds all year long, especially during busy summer months. Illegal fires, partying, and inappropriate disposal of trash has been harmful to local wildlife, neighbors and tourists. Help us monitor and clean up Main Beach!
Individual and group volunteers are welcome. The Volunteer Center provides all necessary supplies, and we encourage volunteers to bring their own reusable buckets, gloves, and water bottles, wear sturdy shoes, sun protection and to dress in layers.
Check in will be located above the beach at 106 Beach St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060 (across the street from the Picnic Basket)
We will be cleaning RAIN or SHINE!
We will meet at 10:00 AM next to the bathrooms between the volleyball nets and Ideal Bar and Grill.
Youth ages 12-17 may attend without an accompanying adult, but need to bring the following completed permission slip:
