The Elkhorn Slough Reserve needs your help restoring 65 acres of salt marsh along the banks of the Elkhorn Slough! Volunteers that join us on this Public Planting Day will get their hands muddy planting new habitat that will grow to serve migratory shorebirds and sea otters. This one-day event will include an overview of the Reserve's restoration projects, and some time to explore a side of the Slough not usually open to the public.
No skills are needed, but the day's work will require some lifting and repeated bending.
This is also a great opportunity to meet and network with our Stewardship and Outreach staff. Tools, light snacks, and hot beverages are provided.
