Event: School and Youth Programs Volunteer Training

Where: Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, 1700 Elkhorn Road, Watsonville, CA 95076
Details: Share your passion for nature with children -- become a School and Youth Programs Guide at the Elkhorn Slough Reserve! As part of our education team, you will help visiting K-12 students discover the wonder of wetlands and estuaries. Education volunteers engage thousands of students each year in scavenger hunts through our Visitor Center, trails walks through our unique habitats, and with live specimens in our Microscope Discovery Lab! This special two day training will give you the confidence and tools you’ll need to engage students and help them learn about this amazing place.
Volunteer shifts typically run Wednesday-Friday mornings, and are flexible -- Reserve staff will work with you to find the best fit for your availability! As a volunteer, you'll receive special access to learning opportunities with our research and stewardship department, as well as fun field trips, bookstore discounts, an invitation to our annual volunteer dinner!
