Opportunity Details
Volunteering with LOARC is a great way to help individuals reach their goal of riding a horse! The atmosphere is fun, positive, and supportive. You also can get some fresh air, exercise, and play with our horses!
Horses provide a unique opportunity for those who may be struggling physically, mentally, or emotionally. Our volunteers will assist in providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our riders. Volunteer duties include brushing and saddling the horse for a lesson.
Leading the horse or walking next to the rider during the lesson. Other barn and administrative help are needed for the individual that may not want to work directly with the horses and riders.
LOARC would appreciate a commitment of once a week for 8 weeks. Each lesson typically lasts an hour. Volunteers are welcomed to participate for more than the 8 weeks if they choose. Lessons may also be scheduled back to back in which case the volunteer could spend several hours at the barn if they would like.
