Volunteer Responsibilities and Impact
Mercy Housing California at Sycamore Street Apartments is an affordable housing community serving 60 families in Santa Cruz, California.
Mercy Housing is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with the after school program onsite at Sycamore Street Apartments. With staff support, volunteers will assist middle and elementary aged youth to complete homework and build literacy skills. Volunteers will also help implement physical education and art activities throughout the semester. Gain experience in an educational setting, learn about affordable housing, and give back to your community- all while having fun!
Shift Days, Times, and the Expected Time Commitment
The after school program runs Monday-Thursday from 3:30- 5pm.
A commitment of 2-4 times a month is preferred.
UCSC academic credit or service learning hours can be arranged for education, sociology, or other related majors
