Make someone's life easier, help us get a bathroom that includes them! All-Gender Restrooms are an important way trans, intersex and gender non-conforming people are included in the navigation of everyday life. As of March last year, all businesses with single-stall bathrooms available to customers must feature gender-inclusive signage as required by Assembly Bill 1732.
We've partnered with the Santa Cruz Downtown Association to offer 25 new gender-inclusive restroom signs to Santa Cruz businesses with single-stall restrooms to celebrate the passing of the Gender Recognition Act, which gives legal recognition to non-binary and intersex genders on state identification.
PHONE SURVEY: We're seeking volunteers with conversational skills for conducting business surveys over the phone to collect data on who wants signs and when they would like them installed. We'll be conducting this survey starting January 22nd to the 31st during our center's open hours.
SIGN GIVEAWAY: We are also seeking volunteers to help us deliver those signs at various times between January 23rd through February. Volunteers will go in teams of 2 to photograph the businesses receiving signs, which will be posted on our website.
