Suicide Prevention Service is looking for new suicide crisis line volunteer responders. Join us for a rewarding experience while learning active listening skills, self-care, and suicide and crisis intervention techniques.
Training is provided and no prior experience is required—only a willing and open heart. 18+
Volunteers receive 40+ hours of training on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings. After training, volunteers commit to a four hour shift, once a week for one year. Training begins Friday, January 31st, 2020!
For 50 years Suicide Prevention Service has been serving Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito County residents through our services, which include a 24-hour suicide crisis hotline. More than anything, people with thoughts of suicide need a safe place to express their thoughts and feelings and be heard.
