Organization Profile

Our mission is to maintain a network of organic community gardens that promote the sharing of cultural practices and improves the health of families in the Pajaro Valley.

Founded in 2011, Mesa Verde Gardens (MVG) works alongside residents of the Pajaro Valley to improve food security and the health of people in our community and the environment. We collaborate with local churches, the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, and the City of Watsonville to provide access to land and build an equitable food system. With the support of garden members, we co-create community gardens where people can grow healthy, culturally matched, organic fruits and vegetables for their family. Our work is guided on the belief that all people have the right to healthy communities, resilient families, and self-empowerment.
