Welcome to Canham Farm Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center

Our mission is to work with rescue horses, communities, organizations and governments to help improve welfare standards and stamp out equine suffering. Our long term mission is to partner rescued horses with disadvantaged children, adults and children with low self-esteem and help highlight the bond between horse and human, improve horse welfare standards and stamp out equine suffering. We not only work with abandoned, abused, neglected and captured wild horses but aim to provide re-training when needed and educate people to interact with horses in a way that benefits both horse and human.

We also offer a Horses Helping Humans program aimed at anyone or group who may benefit from the therapeutic power of horses. The project caters to people suffering from anxiety, stress, addiction recovery, carers and their families, people dealing with difficult circumstances, seniors who are in need of a sense of community, people facing barriers to employment, people who are homeless, vulnerable youth and children and adults with physical limitations such as cerebral palsy, stroke and head injuries. All our sessions are tailored to individual needs, capabilities and aims.
