Our non-profit raises money to provide academic enrichment to students in the Live Oak district. We hope to level the playing field so that Live Oak students may have the same opportunities are their peers. This is a really fun event. Thousands of locals come out to enjoy music, food and drinks and browse through the 100 vendor booths that we set up along Portola Drive. With so many people comes a lot fo trash ans we are making an effort this year to reduce the environmental impact of this event by providing compost bins, recycling bins and landfill bins. It is really important that people put their trash in the appropriate bin so we need volunteers to man the trash stations to help guide folks and inform them of what is and isn't recylable and/or compostable. We have a written trash guide for volunteers to use during the event. Mostly volunteers just need to be comfortable talking to people and enjoy the day! We are asking volunteers to sign up for a 2 hour shift but are happy to work with your availability if it is different. Volunteers will get free food and a beer (for adults who want one)!
