The Big Brothers Big Sisters After-School Enrichment Program is looking for guest volunteers to lead the children in a variety of enrichment activities.
The program is offered Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30—5:30pm at two low-income housing facilities in south Santa Cruz County.
During the first hour mentors assist the children with their homework in the areas of math, science, social studies and writing. For the second hour a guest volunteer engages the children in a wide variety of enriching activities such as science experiments, arts and crafts, outdoor fitness games, musical exploration or addresses topics important to the students' social, academic, and leadership development.
The list of enrichment activities is endless so if you have a special skill set, idea, hobby or knowledge base please sign up to be an After-School Program guest volunteer and help broaden these children’s horizon! The children range from K-6 grades.
