Computer Workshops for English Language Learners
Are you comfortable using Mac and Dell laptops?
Literacy Program has a great short-term volunteer opportunity for you!
We need Volunteer Instructors to teach computer basic classes to 1 or 2 students for a month. This class is for English language learners so being billingual in Spanish is very helpful.
Responsibilities:
Instructors come in once a week and teach a class for 1.5 hours.
Show them the basic computer functions and work through lesson plans together. You do not need to be a computer expert to teach these classes. We provide the curriculum and lesson plans for each class.
You can sign up for any of the workshops below. We have 3 classes currently scheduled:
- Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Santa Cruz Downtown Library on May 16, May 23, May 30 and June 6.
- Saturdays from 9:00am to 10:30am at Community Connection near Harvey West Park in Santa Cruz on May 19, May 26, June 2 and June 9.
- Saturdays from 11:00am to 12:30pm at Community Connection near Harvey West Park in Santa Cruz on May 19, May 26, June 2 and June 9.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 8+, Minimum Age:12+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
