2017 Annual Holiday Luncheon For Seniors

Grey Bears Annual Holiday Luncheon

Sunday, December 3rd from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium

This event is the highlight of the holiday season and even the year for many seniors in our county. When the community comes out to support seniors who might not have family in the area the gratitude can be felt through the whole building. This is also a chance for us to celebrate all that seniors have done for our community and let them know that their contributions are appreciated. In helping in this event you are not just helping set tables or serve meals- you a proving a meal that a senior might not be able to afford by themselves and providing company they might not find otherwise. From decorating before the event, or helping during you are making a difference in the lives of your neighbors.

Join us for at least a 2 hour shift or stay a whole day on the days and times listed below:
  • Friday 12/1: 1pm -6pm (2 hour shifts) This is the first day we begin to transform the space from a blank canvas to a festive party! Come and join us as we set up chairs, tables and décor for the big dinner.
  • Saturday 12/2: 11am-3pm (2 hour shifts)  Decorating continues as we add our finishing touches to the auditorium. We need volunteers to help build center pieces for the tables and make sure that the Civic Auditorium is looking its best for the seniors who look forward to this event all year. 
  • Sunday 12/3 7am – 10am Set up, a welcome booth, beverage stations and start cutting desserts. We will also start organizing the kitchen to make it ready for the influx of food that is about to be assembled in it.
  • 10am – 2pm serving, Volunteer orientation is at 10am and then we will put all the delicious treats together!
  • 2pm – 4pm clean up: help us leave the Civic as beautiful as we found it.

Annual Free Holiday Luncheon Celebration for 1,400+ seniors. The luncheon will be held at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, located at 307 Church Street. All volunteers on Sunday, Dec. 3rd will enjoy a free lunch!
