2014 YouthSERVE: Join Hands Day

Volunteer with YouthSERVE at the next National Day of Service: Join Hands Day!

Join Hands Day is the only National Day of Service that specifically fosters collaborations between youth and adults.

In keeping with the intergenerational objectives of Join Hands Day, YouthSERVE and the Homeless Garden Project are organizing several small projects and gardening tasks to foster community building and civic engagement.

With this day of service we hope to educate our community about Join Hands Day and encourage youth and adults to collaborate on a more consistent basis. We also hope to brainstorm and highlight the many ways youth and adults can volunteer together to make a difference in our community.

Join Hands Day will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10am to 2pm at the Homeless Garden Project (0 Shaffer Road at Delaware Avenue). The small projects and gardening tasks will include: simple weeding, harvesting, and planting new crops. All ages are encouraged to participate!

Volunteer Requirements: All youth volunteers must have parental permission. To request a permission form, email the coordinator by clicking the mail icon.
