Join us for a morning of restoration and beautification at Evergreen Cemetery on Make A Difference Day, October 28th from 9:30am to 12pm. A wide variety of projects will be taking place to improve Evergreen Cemetery, which we are gradually transforming according to a "Historical Sculpture Garden" vision. These may include painting our new tool shed, installing replacement headstones, improving paths and historic plots, and plenty of yard work. For six years now an all-volunteer effort has been steadily uncovering, restoring, improving, and adding to Evergreen Cemetery to make it a beautiful, safe, educational, inspiring site. We aim to inspire our community to learn more about local history, appreciate the many cultures represented at Evergreen, and make use of the site. Along with our ongoing work, Make a Difference Day will help us prepare Evergreen for our Dia de los Muertos family event that attracts over 500 people. Wear cloths you can get dirty and bring a bottle of water. If you have work gloves please bring a pair (we will have extras for people who need them). You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to eat when we finish working.
