Opportunity Details
Prevent hundreds of pounds of food from going to waste and help to pick up donations of bread, packaged produce, and baked goods from Whole Foods to bring to our food pantry. This is a great way to help our organization significantly in short amount of time and to contribute direct, hands-on service.
Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes uses the weekly Whole Foods donations to be able to distribute fresh, nutritious bread to local families and to contribute quality fruits, vegetables, and miscellaneous foods to the lunch program.
We need a volunteer who would like to committ to picking up the Whole Foods donations from the Santa Cruz location on 41st Ave every Friday and transport it to PVLF's location in Watsonville to unload.
Qualifications:
- Have personal vehical to fit up to 100 lbs of bread items and fruit (most vehicles will be large enough)
-Willingness to committ to each Friday
-Ability to have friendly, respectful, and professional communication with Whole Foods staff
-Timeliness
-Ability to lift upwards of 30 lbs.
***Volunteer will recieve a hands-on training from PVLF for their first day***
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
